Shy Sarah, Psycho Sarah....Now Social Sarah!

I am so grateful to Chris Fraize and everyone at Canine Solutions Training Services for my much improved dog, Sara! I left a terrified, neurotic and hysterical dog for four weeks of in kennel training, and brought home a calmer more social dog.  Our family and friends are amazed at her improvement in such a short time.

Sara came to live with us 2 ½ years ago as an extremely shy 7 month old beagle/lab mix.  The organization I rescued her from said she was removed from a barn of about 60 dogs.  Sara was comfortable with dogs but extremely afraid of people, objects and riding in the car. They said they didn’t think she had been physically abused but neglected and just needed a loving home and to be socialized. I had no idea how severe a case Sara really was. It took us a few months to get Sara used to the family, but as she became loving to us she became aggressive to outsiders. The first trainer I had come to the house spent two days with her and told me Sara was aggressive and to never trust her. When someone would come in the house she would bark hysterically and lunge at them. If she sensed fear she got stronger. It would end up with Sara being put in the bedroom with the door shut when company came. I was in constant fear that she would bite someone. Walks were also a nightmare.

Sara was afraid of everything (trashcans, kid toys, leaves blowing, birdfeeders, boxes, balls, etc). She would start the walk by pulling and end the walk with her pulling even harder. I took her to manners class but she was so scared of the people that she just hid behind me and trembled. I had resigned that Sara would always be this way and we just needed to spend our time protecting people from her. So much for rescuing her to improve her quality of life!! I was really at my wits end on what to do to and how to do it. We wanted our home back in order to have visitors. Chris was recommended to me as an expert with dogs with severe issues by another trainer so I took both my dogs in for an evaluation.  It broke my heart to leave Sara but after talking with Chris I knew in my heart this was an opportunity for her to become a happy well adjusted dog.  If I had any doubts they vanished the first week I went back for obedience training with my other rescue, Roper.  Sara had obviously grown very fond of Chris and his family.  She ran up to Chris, jumped on him and kissed his face. This was the first time a man had ever touched Sara no less her kissing him back!  I can’t put it into words how I felt at that moment. My highest hope was for Sara to be tolerant of people so not to bite.  After one week, she was surpassing that!

Sara is home now and improving every day. She has met some of our friends that she had tormented in the past. She has sat calmly next to many while they hold her leash. Comments have been “Wow, what a different dog!”And “I can’t believe Sara is so nice now”. Our family enjoys her more. Sara and Roper continue their obedience training with CSTS while I continue my leadership training as well. I look forward to the day I can take my two well behaved dogs anywhere.

Thank you, Chris, April and everyone at CSTS. Whether you need basic obedience or help with a severe behavioral issue, I highly recommend Chris and CSTS.

Don't touch my food or my feet!

The week of July 4th 2009 we met with Canine Solutions Training Services owner Chris Fraize to evaluate our 10 month old male Rottweiler, Cooper. Cooper had severe food aggression. His feet were impossible to touch without us being bitten. Plus he had NO obedience at all.  Chris suggested that we do in kennel training to work on Cooper’s aggression issues.

It has been 14 weeks since the time we met with Chris and dropped off Cooper for his in kennel training. The progress Cooper has made in 14 weeks is astonishing! We could not be happier! Touching Cooper’s feet is no longer an issue.  His obedience is better than I could have hoped for in such short time!

We have continued in weekly training sessions and each week we progress more and more. We have started working with him in weight pulling and personal protection classes. Not only is Cooper learning obedience, but we are learning proper handling technique as well.  The best part of the training...it's fun! Our bond with Cooper has gotten stronger and we feel proud to be his owners/handlers. I would not hesitate one bit to recommend Canine Solutions Training Services to anyone. Whether your dog has major issues or you are just looking for some simple obedience, CSTS is your place to go!

Go anywhere do anything "Mak"!

I am the proud owner of a 15 month old white boxer named Makhtoub (Mak). As any responsible dog owner the first thing I looked into upon
getting my puppy was training. Having grown up around high performance working dogs it quickly became apparent that the conventional group
classes at the local training facility weren't going to cut it.

I wanted a well behaved dog that I could take anywhere, but my ultimate goal was way more challenging. I wanted to be able to enjoy riding my
horse on the trails accompanied by my dog knowing that I could control him from a distance no matter the unpredictable circumstance
that could arise. In order to achieve that  it was obvious that I needed to take training to another level.

Mak and I have been training with Chris Fraize at Canine Solution Training Services for about a year. We train in classes with dogs of all sizes, disciplines and issues. Despite still being a puppy, thanks to dedication and great training, I now take my dog everywhere I go and receive nothing but
compliments on what a good dog he is.  Mak sits, downs, stays and comes when he's called no matter the distraction or environment. Mak
heels at my side when I lead my horse and will down/stay while I work my horse in the ring.

Currently we are transitioning to off leash obedience that will enable me to reach my ultimate goal. It was never my intention to own a competition dog but now I feel like the sky is the limit.  Thanks to Chris and his staff's encouragement and challenges through training, Mak has developed not only into a well
behaved and reliable pet but into a balanced confident performance dog with life as his obedience ring.

Paige the Doberman gets a second chance.

Without Canine Solutions Training Services training, my Doberman would be banned to her outdoor pen. Before Canine Solutions Training Services, taking her out for walks was a scary experience. If she spotted or heard another dog, the person at the end of the leash would be subject to a bite. With Canine Solutions Training Services training, we have the tools required to keep our dog under control, and she has learned respect for her handler. She is a well behaved dog, and we enjoy her everyday, which was not the case before Canine SolutionsTraining Services.

I can’t thank Chris and his crew enough for all the support they provided during our training sessions. I only wish we had known Canine Solutions Training Services during our dog’s puppy stage, as I am sure life would have been much different. Today people visiting our home ask if she is the same dog we have always had. They can’t get over the difference in her behavior. Thanks Canine Solutions Training Services.
